Giving Thanks To God

Prayer One

Almighty and everlasting God,
you are always more ready to hear than we to pray,
and to give more than either we desire or deserve:
pour down upon us the abundance of your mercy,
for giving us those things of which our conscience is afraid,
and giving us the good things that we are not worthy to ask,
but through the merits and meditation of Jesus Christ, your son, our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirtit,
one God, now and for ever.
AMEN

Prayer Two

Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for all the benefits you have won for us
For all the pains and insults you have bourne for us.
Most merciful redeemer and friend and brother,
May we know you more clearly,
Love you more dearly,
And follow you more nearly day by day.
AMEN.
