Prayer for Lent;
Loving God,
Your eternal watchfulness keeps me safe from harm.
I am filled with a great happiness
when I feel your endless love for me.
Thank you for your care for me, one of your children.
I ask you to protect from harm
those who will soon be your children,
joined in the joy of your church.
Please continue to pour out your blessings
on all of us who have been given
the lifegiving waters of baptism.
Morning
Lord, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day.
When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going.
Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way.
And give me the courage to do whatever needs to be done.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
(Dr. Ray Pritchard)
Evening
Father God,
I ask You to lead me
when I’m blinded by ways I have not known,
along unfamiliar paths please guide me;
Lord, turn the darkness into light before me
and make the rough places smooth.
I pray these are the things You will do;
I know You will not forsake me. Amen
(Beth Moore)
