Thursday - 9th. Day of Lent
Today we pray for those living in Windsor Crescent, Montfort Close, Poyntz Lane, all the pupils and staff in St. James and Earl Spencer Primary Schools.
Please pray for all those involved in the Ukrainian War
and the people in Gaza, especially all those injured and killed
Prayer for Lent;
Lord,
I'm not always eager to do your will.
I'd often much rather do my own will.
Please be with me on this Lenten journey
and help me to remember
that your own spirit can guide me
in the right direction.
I want to 'fix' my weaknesses
but the task seems overwhelming.
But I know that with your help,
anything can be done.
With a grateful heart,
I acknowledge your love
and know that without you,
I can do nothing.
Morning
Arise and Shine in My Heart
O Lord Jesus, Creator of all things,
light of the glory of the Father in heaven.
I thank you for letting me see the light of a new day!
Bright Sun of Righteousness,
arise and shine in my heart,
so that I may walk as a child of light as in the day,
and finally see you in the eternal light of joy everlasting. Amen.

Evening
I pray for courage.
No one ever told us how much courage
it takes to live whole-heartedly, did they?
No one told us how brave we would have to be.
And yet here we are.
I pray for courage to rise up in us
so that we can get up out of our beds for another day
and do what we need to do to carry on.
I pray for an appetite to eat good food
and I pray we’ll go to bed on time and sleep well. Amen
